On May 24th, ABIS celebrated its fourth graduation ceremony at Crowne Plaza ballroom. It was a night of fun, laughter and good memories. We recognized and celebrated the achievements of our very own Magnificent Seven – Andee, Anton, David, Isaac, Trisha, Willem and Ziyad.
It was good to know that before graduating and venturing into the big wide world, the Magnificent Seven had the opportunity to enjoy the facilities of the newly-expanded ABIS, which most of them have lived through the pounding and drilling and digging. We hope that they had enjoyed being the first occupants of the Learning Centre 2, the DP study area, and the first to be granted their own private sundeck. They were also the first to perform in the Mazoon building , the first to use the race tracks for Sports Day and the first to use the state-of-the-art touch pads in the swimming pool. We hope they had enjoyed to the fullest these ‘first experiences’ which were the collective efforts of so many individuals who honored us with their presence during the event.
We would like to thank Mr. Nofal Al Saidi, chair of the ABIS school board, for delivering the welcome address. We were honored by the presence of one of our patrons, the CEO of Sohar Aluminium, Saed Al Massoudi, as well as the ABIS board members, Ms. Aneseri Chetty and Mr. Jerry Van Alphen.
We would also like to thank the graduates’ family members and friends, some of whom had traveled from afar just to be here on this special occasion. Finally, we would like to thank the teachers who have done their best to prepare our graduates for the next steps in their educational pursuits.
