With a unit exam coming up next week, the name of the game today was review–and the name of that review was a game. Grade 9 spent two periods playing “Unification Showdown”, a board game that challenged the students to race around the board, collecting territory and, ultimately, unifying Germany.
At each stop around the board, the students were posed a unit review question–some short and sweet, others longer and written under the pressure of a 60-second clock. The students could challenge each other to a “duel” and wrestle precious territory away from each other.
The game was quite fun and the students showed off their knowledge and understanding from the past five weeks. It came down to last-second duel between Claire and Teja, with Claire claiming Austria from Teja and winning the game.
Good luck to you all next week on your exam!
