Grade 10 IGCSE English involves learning how to write in a variety of styles. One style that we just learned about is the formal report. So to practice this, students took on the role of a visiting CIS committee, and created a report about the school and its facilities with recommendations for improvement. They had to create a balanced report that looked at pros and cons of the school, and learned about how to structure the information logically with formal language. While not the most fun form of writing, students were engaged in the chance to take a hard look at the school and evaluate it.
