Mr Davis has been away at the MUN conference with most of the older secondary students which gave me the joy of watching the very enthusiastic grade 8 students complete a competitive challenge called an Algebra Chain. One team (Istiaq, Courtney and Yann) raced ahead, completing the first 11 problems in record time but then became stuck on question 12 of 13. The three other teams plodded more slowly but soon caught up and all eventually surpassed the lead team, leaving them to place fourth in the end. Top award went to the team including Sanna, Newton, Abhishek.
