This has been a very busy but enjoyable day for our Grade 11 and 12 students. Once every two years, we run the Group 4 Project, an interdisciplinary Science project that focuses on team work and scientific method.
This year’s topic was ‘Science on a building site’ and our four groups came up with great research questions and experiments. The four groups focused on safety on a building site (safety helmets); the uses, properties and environmental impact of concrete; storage and insulation of water bottles for workers on building sites; and effect of room height and window ventilation on the temperature of a building.
All in all, a very successful day. The IB DP Scientists did themselves, and us, very proud.
