8th grade students are exploring what makes a book Science Fiction, and the different subgenres such as Cyberpunk and Dystopian fiction. They started with some famous Ray Bradbury stories and are now in smaller groups with different books. Our goal is to understand the conventions of the genre, and how we use the genre to explore moral issues that are relevant to our world of the present.
