For some reason everyone at school seems to be exhausted! I can’t think why.

Maybe it has something to do with nearing the end of half term and swimming Gala on Monday, in which Secondary students gave 100%. It was great to see the commitment and determination from all of the competitors as they marked their progress and improvement. It was also touching to see the Secondary students tend to and support the younger primary students as they thrashed their way across the pool. I hope you enjoy the pictures we shared today that captured these moments.

On an academic note, we have been discussing our process  and timeline for the next report (mid semester 2) as well as the student-led conferences and we will announce these dates after the break. There is a lot of preparation under way for our IB Diploma authorisation visit in May and we are strengthening the school in a number of areas, ranging from curriculum to facilities and resources.  We hope all of this effort pays off!

Grade 10 students will soon have their final IGCSE exams (beginning in May) and they have already formed their revision schedules with the aid of teachers.  Also coming up on the Calendar is Art Day on April 15, which we are really looking forward to. Mr Hampton is busily preparing for this and creating an air of mystery over the special theme. All will be revealed soon. Look out for the article on our recent International Evening in the Times of Oman and Observer, which will come out next week. We also featured in both papers last week with an article on the Oman week celebrations.

I wish you a restful and enjoyable break if you are going away!

Regards,
Leo
