🌱 KG2 – Week 5: Growing, Learning and Taking Care of Ourselves

It has been wonderful to see the children becoming more confident and independent as they settle into our KG2 routines. Next week, we will continue exploring how we grow, learn and take care of ourselves.

πŸ”€ Phonics

We will introduce the /p/ sound and continue practising the sounds we have already learned through songs, games and letter-formation activities.

πŸ”’ Maths

In Maths, we will focus on numbers 1–4. The children will practise recognising and forming numbers, matching numbers to quantities, and exploring 1 more and 1 less. We will also continue developing our measurement skills using non-standard units.

🧍 UOI – Growing, Learning and Boundaries

We will continue exploring how our bodies and brains grow as we learn new things. We will also begin talking about personal boundaries in friendships and learning that we can use our words to let others know when we are uncomfortable.

Our Boundary Song will help us practise saying, β€œStop, I don’t like it,” and understanding that we should respect our friends when they ask us to stop.

You can continue the learning at home by asking:

  • What is something you can do now that you couldn’t do when you were younger?
  • What new thing have you learned?
  • What can you do to take care of your body?
  • What can you say if you don’t like something a friend is doing?

πŸ“š Stories

We will continue enjoying stories and songs that support our learning about growing, learning, friendship and taking care of ourselves.
