Inside My Body

We are continuing our “Who We Are” journey, and next week we are going to look beyond what we can see on the outside and begin discovering the amazing things inside our bodies! 🦴🌟

🔤 Phonics

We will introduce the /t/ sound and practise hearing and saying the sound and finding words that begin with /t/. We will also revisit our s, a and t sounds through fun games, songs and letter hunts.

🔢 Maths

Our bodies will help us with our maths learning! We will count familiar body parts such as fingers, toes, eyes and ears, and practise matching quantities to numbers.

🧍 UOI – Inside Our Bodies

We will revisit our body-part vocabulary before discovering that there are many things inside our bodies that we cannot see. We will be introduced to our skeleton and bones and explore how our skeleton gives our bodies shape and helps us move.

We will also continue exploring what makes each of us unique and special, and how we can respect and appreciate the differences between ourselves and our friends.

You can continue the conversation at home by asking:

  • Can you show me where your bones are?
  • What do you think our skeleton does?
  • Can you name some parts of your body?
  • What makes you special and unique?

📚 Stories

We will revisit From Head to Toe and explore simple non-fiction books and pictures about the human body. These will help us develop our body vocabulary and build our understanding of what is inside us.

We are looking forward to another exciting week of discovering just how amazing our bodies are! 🦴💛
