This week I have had the pleasure of working with many different students across G1- G10. It was great to see G1 students doing some sensory regulation to get them ready to do their learning. This is so important and often overlooked, but movement breaks really do help students (of any age) to focus!

This student gave my permission but requested to remain a mystery. I wanted to talk about how proud I am of students who strive to do their very best, even when they find some subjects difficult. This student requested to stay after school to work with me on preparing for an English summative assessment. This attitude and dedication is highly commendable and deserves a mention this week!

Lastly, my G8 advisory class has been delving into digital well-being (it is digital well-being week this week). This morning we thought about how these apps and games draw you in and disrupt your working memory. We played a ‘push notification’ game, which made us think about how these stop our train of thought and disrupt concentration. We are working towards taking some fun and interactive ideas to grades 5 and 6 to raise awareness about the topic- this was one activity.
