Dear Parents,
I hope you are having a wonderful week. Our music lessons have been exceptionally productive over the past few days, as our classrooms have transformed into collaborative rehearsal spaces focused on our upcoming performance milestones.
We are currently in a vital phase of finalizing and polishing the repertoire for our Summer Concert. Our students are working incredibly hard, moving beyond the initial learning of notes to focus on the fine details of their performance. This dedication is essential to ensuring we accomplish a high-quality and memorable experience for our community on the concert night.
Weekly Music Progress:
- Grade 7: Refining Arrangements – Our students are making great strides as they move into the intensive practice phase. Many groups are now focused on polishing their transitions and ensuring their arrangements are tight and cohesive, showing great resilience as they master their respective parts.
- Grade 8: Repertoire Polishing – The Grade 8 students continue to show great confidence. They have moved into the “fine-tuning” stage, focusing on the nuances of dynamics, balance, and articulation to ensure their class song has a professional and polished feel.
- Grade 9: Technical Advancement – Performance standards are rising in Grade 9. As they integrate their creative ideas into the concert set, they are spending significant time polishing difficult technical passages and refining the overall structure of their presentation.
- Grade 10: Academic Focus & Upcoming Rehearsals – Currently, our Grade 10 students are focusing their energy on their e-assessments. While their academic requirements are taking priority this week, they are eager to resume their intensive rehearsals shortly to begin the final polishing of their MYP performance pieces.
Thank you for your continued support of our music program and for encouraging your children during this busy preparation period.
