Dear Secondary Parents,
This week, we were delighted to welcome parents to our monthly Coffee Morning, which was combined with our Grade 11 Diploma Programme Art Exhibition. It was a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together and celebrate the creativity and hard work of our students.
Our Grade 11 Art students presented a range of highly personal and thoughtful pieces, and it was particularly pleasing to see them confidently discussing their work with parents. Being able to explain their ideas, processes, and influences is an important part of the Diploma Programme, helping students to develop both their communication skills and their ability to reflect on their own learning. The exhibition itself represents a significant milestone in their journey, as they begin to refine and curate work that will contribute towards their final DP submission.
Alongside the DP exhibition, we were also proud to showcase work from students across other grade levels. This provided a valuable opportunity to see the progression of skills and creativity across the IB continuum, from the early stages of artistic development through to the more refined and conceptual work seen in the Diploma Programme.
Events such as this reflect an important part of our IB philosophy. Learning is not confined to the classroom; it is something to be shared, discussed, and celebrated within a wider community. Bringing parents into school to engage with student work strengthens this partnership and helps students see real value and purpose in what they are creating.
Thank you to all parents who attended and contributed to such a positive and engaging morning. Thank you also to Mr Marek for his his continued hard work and dedication. We look forward to continuing to provide opportunities for our community to come together and celebrate student learning.
This is an important period for many of our students as we move through the examination season. We would like to wish the very best of luck to our Grade 10 students as they prepare for their final MYP eAssessment tomorrow. Our Grade 11 students will begin their end-of-year examinations next week, while our Grade 12 students will also be completing the final week of their Diploma Programme examinations. We also extend our best wishes to all students sitting Ministerial examinations.
These assessments reflect a great deal of hard work and preparation, and we encourage all students to remain focused, take care of their wellbeing, and finish strongly.
Warm Regards
Andy Cooper
