Another week has flown by in Grade 6 as we conclude our measurement unit as we look at the last component, time. We have spent some time analysing other videos to identify features of a Ted Talk. We have been making wonderful progress in identifying the topic for our upcoming Ted Talks – a definite highlight of the year that will (hopefully) bring out the best in all of our students.

Next Week

Maths  – We will be…

  • Starting our new patterns and sequences unit
  • Identifying a series of different patterns
  • Finding rules for each pattern
  • Mental Maths

Literacy and Unit of Inquiry (very closely connected in the coming weeks) – We will be…

  • Creating a hook for our Ted talks
  • Adding all other features (audience connection, data, personal story, status quo, better world, call for action, ending etc).
  • Revising and editing our scripts
  • Memories – looking back and documenting key and fun memories from primary school (some will then be included in the G6 graduation on the 2nd June)

VERY IMPORTANT DATE

Grade 6 Graduation = Tuesday 2nd June – 8.15am to 9am in the Mazoon.

PLEASE put this date in your calendar and ensure that you can attend. We have put it early in the day so that families can attend before going to work. Last year all students had at least one family member to witness their graduation, we would very much like for the same level of parent attendance this year too!

Have a great weekend,

Grade 6 Team
