Dear parents,
I would like to inform you that selected students from Grades 2 will be taking the WIDA MODEL assessment next week as part of our English language support and monitoring program.
The WIDA MODEL assessment helps us measure students’ progress in English language development across four key areas: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The results provide valuable information about each student’s current language abilities and help teachers better understand how to support their learning in the classroom.
We use WIDA data to:
- Monitor students’ growth and progress in English over time
- Identify individual strengths and areas that may need additional support
- Guide classroom instruction and language support strategies
- Inform placement and intervention decisions when needed
- Ensure students are receiving appropriate academic and language-learning opportunities
Please note that this assessment is not something students need to study for. We encourage students to get a good night’s rest, arrive at school on time, and do their best.
Thank you for your continued support in your child’s learning journey. If you have any questions about the assessment, please feel free to contact me
Kind regards,
Viviana Paez / EAL Primary
