A short, yet dynamic week in G6 as we complete our Literacy unit on explanation texts, plough ahead with finding the capacity of different shapes in mathematics, using persuasive oral language to sell terrible products (ask your child) and start looking towards the final unit of inquiry and our Primary school legacies.

Math Revision Work
As we are nearing the end of the year, we feel it is really important for the students to revise and practice some of the core skills taught throughout the year. So for the last part of the year, we will be handing out a differentiated (different levels) mental maths assignment for the children to complete at home. It will be handed out on the last day of the week (normally Thursday) with the expectation that it is brought back by the following Thursday. We will then go through the different work on that day and work with students on misconceptions or areas they need additional support with. Thank you in advance for helping the students to find time to do this work. It should take between 30 – 40 minutes to complete (depending on their speed).
Graduation Cap and Sash
The school have purchased black graduation hats and black sashes for each of the students to wear at graduation on the 2nd June (more information on this below). If you would like your child to own the hat and sash as a souvenir the cost is 1.5 Rial. If you do not want your child to keep these items, then they will be allowed to use them on the day and then they will be returned to school, and used for future grade level. We have a table set up in class, and as soon as the 1.5 Rials is paid the children are able to take these items home to help them prepare for their big day.
VERY IMPORTANT DATE
Grade 6 Graduation = Tuesday 2nd June – 8.15am to 9am in the Mazoon. PLEASE put this date in your calendar and ensure that you can attend. We have put it early in the day so that families can attend before going to work. Last year all students had at least one family member to witness their graduation, we would very much like for the same level of parent attendance this year too!
