Dear Secondary Families,

This week, our Grade 10 students reached an important milestone in their MYP journey with the completion of the Personal Project and the Personal Project Exhibition.

The Personal Project is the culminating experience of the Middle Years Programme. It provides students with the opportunity to explore an area of personal interest, develop a product or outcome, and reflect on their learning through a sustained and independent process. Over several months, students have engaged in research, planning, and critical reflection, demonstrating a high level of commitment and perseverance.

The exhibition marked the final stage of this process. During the day, students presented their projects to peers from across the school, from KG through to Grade 10, engaging younger students and sharing their learning. In the evening, we welcomed parents and members of the wider community, providing an opportunity to view the range and quality of work produced.

We were very pleased with the way in which our students approached the exhibition. They presented with confidence, spoke clearly about their learning, and demonstrated a strong sense of ownership over their projects. The quality and diversity of the work reflected both their individual interests and the support provided by staff throughout the process.

The skills developed through the Personal Project, including research, organisation, time management, and reflection, will be essential as students move into the Diploma Programme next year. This experience provides a strong foundation for the demands of DP study and beyond.

I hope you have a lovely weekend,

Andy CooperHead of Secondary
