Dear Parents,
I hope you are having a wonderful week. Our classrooms are buzzing with energy as we move closer to our performance dates. Here is an update on the progress made this week:
- Grade 7: Concert Repertoire – Our students are working hard on their group performances. While the progress is steady, some groups have faced challenges in selecting a song that perfectly matches their current technical abilities. We are using this as a learning opportunity to discuss arrangement and how to adapt music to suit an ensemble’s strengths.
- Grade 8: Repertoire Confidence – The Grade 8 students are looking very confident with their chosen repertoire. Their practice sessions have become much more fluid, and they are now moving beyond just playing the notes to focusing on the expressive qualities of their performance.
- Grade 9: Composition and Performance – It has been a creative week for Grade 9. Several exciting new ideas have emerged for their original compositions, and we are seeing significant advancements in their concert pieces as they refine their instrumental parts.
- Grade 10: Concert Focus – With the e-Portfolio behind them, the Grade 10 students are now fully dedicated to their concert preparations. They are working diligently on their ensemble pieces, bringing a high level of maturity and leadership to the rehearsal space.
Thank you for your continued support of our music program.
