Our highlight this week was the Student-led Conferences. This is a meeting between parents and their children where the children take the lead! It is amazing to see how young children take pride in their work and learning when they are able to present their work, their classroom, their skills and knowledge, in English, to their own parents.
Many thanks to the families who were able to come and support their children. Parents were positive, asked thoughtful questions, joined in reading and Maths games to allow their child to shine and show their learning.
I was also very happy to have this opportunity to observe my students, in a calmer than normal environment, too! I was able to see in more detail how students have improved their English speaking and was proud to see how they could remember vocabulary, present their work, give instructions and explain. All students were pleased to have the undivided attention of a parent which, in these busy times, is a precious chance too. Well done and many thanks to everyone for making this a special event.
