Exploring the Life Cycle of a Butterfly
This week we read the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar and learned about the life cycle of a butterfly. The students explored how a butterfly grows and changes from an egg, to a caterpillar, to a chrysalis, and finally into a butterfly.
To deepen their understanding, the children used quick-drying clay to create their own models showing the different stages of the butterfly life cycle. As they worked, they talked about how the caterpillar changes and grows before becoming a butterfly.
This hands-on activity helped students understand how living things grow and change, while also developing their creativity and fine motor skills. 🐛🦋✨
