Middle School students faced the first round of Summative Assessments this week, and the reality of the secondary academic workload is setting in!
We saw some students handle them admirably—planning their time, completing homework, and coming in relaxed and ready. Others are quickly learning the importance of checking their weekly calendars on Managebac, being aware of upcoming deadlines, and staying on top of their homework. All resources shared with students are designed for success, but it is ultimately their responsibility to complete the work and prepare for lessons as directed.
This is the beginning of the Middle School journey for our Grade 7 students. We ask that you continue to support them with gentle reminders to check Managebac AND Google Classroom, as this is where all essential information and deadlines are shared.
Student Spotlight: Sahil Sardar
Many congratulations to Grade 7 student Sahil Sardar, who was invited to Sohar University this week to present on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to university students. What a fantastic example of Service as Action (SA) being shared with the wider community! He did such a great job that they’ve invited him back to lecture more students. Well done, Sahil!
Staff Professional Development
Today, all staff at ABIS participated in a Professional Development day. Just like our students, we as teachers focus on checking calendars, meeting deadlines, setting goals, and reflecting on our practice. This ensures we continue to provide a high-quality education that develops the essential transferrable skills our students need for life beyond school.
Thank you to all of our parents for partnering with us to deliver “a high quality education that empowers students to be compassionate life long learners and global citizens who positively influence the world,” as laid out in our school vision.
Let’s all remember The ABIS Community Pact: Challenge Yourself, Involve Yourself, Be Your Best.
Have a great long weekend!
Best wishes, G7 Advisory Team.
