Dear Parents,
Thank you once again to all who joined us at the Parent Information Evening. Your support and encouragement fuel the energy in our classroom—it truly makes a difference as we walk this math journey together.
This Week in Our Learning:
This Week in Our Learning
This week, our Grade 9 learners explored the laws of exponents—both with integers and fractional powers. They didn’t just stop at applying the rules but also connected this understanding to significant figures, seeing how precision and exponents go hand in hand.
To deepen their learning, students reflected through an informal formative assessment. It was encouraging to see them pause, think back, and recognize how much progress they’ve made.
Student Spotlight:
We’re especially proud of the way students approached the formative check-in. Even though it wasn’t graded, they treated it with seriousness and preparation. Their dedication to learning, rather than just grades, truly stood out this week.
Looking Ahead:
Next week, we’ll journey into the world of surds and radicals—a whole new way of looking at numbers beyond the familiar. Students will be challenged to think differently, spot patterns, and connect these abstract ideas to real mathematical applications.
