It has been a great first week of school. At the end of last school year, we had given the students a reading challenge. To mininize the Summer Slide(the decline in academic skills), that students experience during the extended summer break from school, we initiated the Summer Reading Challenge.
We were happy to have 33 students participate in the challenge with 16 students meeting or exceeding the number of books to be read. The students were presented with a certificate and a small reward for participating.
