Dear Parents and Students,
It has been a wonderful start to the school year, and I am delighted to share what we’ve been learning in Mathematics across the 8th grade. Alongside getting to know each other, we’ve laid some strong foundations for our learning journey ahead.
We began with a fun icebreaker where students worked in pairs to find common interests – lots of laughter and teamwork! We then agreed on our essential agreements for learning Maths this year.
Students joined Google Classroom and DeltaMath, after which we jumped into our Maths journey. This week’s focus was on converting decimals to fractions to percentages and back again. Students discussed these concepts and were encouraged to solve practice problems and ask questions whenever needed.
✨ Spotlight: Some students impressed us with clear explanations of how they converted decimals to percentages.
🔎 Looking ahead: Next week, we’ll extend this learning into real-world applications of percentages.
