Good afternoon,
This week, as part of our inquiry into how “many different people help to keep our community working well”, some children had the opportunity to visit and assist the community member they interviewed last week. These short shadowing experiences gave the children a deeper understanding of the important roles each person plays in helping our school run smoothly.
One group observed and helped Mr Shreebash with watering the plants, another group joined Mr Sekar in feeding the goats and chickens at the school farm, and a third group supported Mr Manik in sweeping the floor with the large flat-mop. While the children enjoyed these hands-on tasks, they also gained insight into the effort required to keep our campus green, our animals healthy, and our learning spaces clean.
Next week, the remaining children will visit the other community members and participate in similar experiences. Photos from this learning engagement can be seen below.
Open Classroom Reminder
A reminder that you are invited to join us at school this coming Sunday for our KG1 Open Classroom morning. On this morning you will have the opportunity to observe a music lesson, followed by a whole class morning meeting in our classroom. Coffee will be available from 8:00 to 8:40am, and the music lesson with Mr Mino will begin promptly at 8:40am in his classroom. Afterwards, the children will return to our classroom, and you are invited to accompany them to observe our morning meeting. We look forward to sharing a glimpse of your child’s day with you!
Assembly: Just a heads-up that there will be an assembly next week (Thursday, 15th) featuring presentations and performances from KG1 to Grade 2 classes. Our class will be first on stage and will present a short but fun music and movement piece that we have been practising.
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend. Warm regards,
Kristina, Buthina and Rahma
