Dear Parents,

A short, but very busy first week back in Grade 6!

The Exhibition is now at full speed as we complete week 4 (of 10). There are 22 separate inquiries at different points, with different needs and different next steps. This is TRUE inquiry and a lot of fun (and a little stressful at times).

The children are now finishing the foundational stage of their inquiries and are starting to look at where they need to go next. The second line of inquiry is normally a more active phase of the inquiry where students collect data, consider new perspectives, build, try out, experiment and (basically) get more creative with their inquiries.

Some highlights of the week below;

Also this week we have reflected upon how AI has helped us access trickier sources and texts, started actively working on our Art elements for the Exhibition and we have even selected the Exhibition T-shirt design that we will proudly wear as a cohort on February 26th. Again, a very gentle reminder (in capitals) – Please make sure your family are all free and available to attend the Exhibition finale on WEDNESDAY 26th FEBRUARY from 5pm-6.30pm. This will be the highlight of the whole Exhibition and it is VITAL that family members attend and support all the hard work that the students have undertaken. This really is an occasion where we would appreciate you trying to take off work (if needed) and to organize your evening around this event. An official student designed invite will be sent to you soon.

Please find the student’s video reflections from Week 4 of the Exhibition – here

A gentle reminder, if you would like to come into Grade 6 and see some of the process, the second ‘Open House’ for parents is next Thursday (23rd January). Please pop in at any point from 8 – 8.50am. This is a great chance to chat with students and really see how the inquiries are developing.

Have a great weekend,

Matt
