Happy New Year everyone!
In grade 10, we have finished our unit on analyzing articles and will be moving on to our creative writing unit. This unit is an interdisciplinary unit with the other languages, Arabic and French. We will be exploring how creative expression allows people to communicate a message about the impact of migration on their lives. In English class, this means we will be learning about how to express ourselves through stories and poetry.
Our students will be working in groups to create a blog to share their writing. The first part of our unit, we are creating poetry. We have spent our first lessons looking at establishing atmosphere and communicating emotion. From next week, we will begin writing in earnest. Until then, take care and encourage them to write!
