We are at the end of 2024 everyone!!!! This week has been busy, busy. We had Sports Day for the primary students on Tuesday, December 19th and Secondary was on Wednesday December 18th. Primary school winners were the RED TEAM and the secondary school winners were the blue team. Please take a look at the pictures and enjoy.
This week we continued working in our research groups. We finished finding four facts about the climate of their biome region. We finished finding four features of the home they will be building and drawing a picture and labeling those features. When we come back from our Winter Break we will continue researching.
When we return from break we will continue spelling tests in English. We will continue working on 6 + 1 Traits of Writing, Ideas and Details. Silent e will be our phonics focus. Remember when using a silent e we use the long vowel sounds. Months of the year will continue to be practiced. Students must know the order and how to spell them. For grammar we will review nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
For math we will be looking at temperature. We will chart the daily temperature and look at other temperatures around the world focusing on the countries our grade 2A students come from. We will continue adding up to 100 with and without regrouping.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!
Many students from the class have taken their iPads home for the Winter Break. I advise the iPads stay at home for safety reasons. The chances of them getting lost or broken are much higher if they are being taken out of your home. I will send the students home with their Prodigy Login, Epic Login, Nessy Login, and SplashLearn Login information. Have fun and don’t forget to have the students reading 20 minutes per day on their break, if possible.
