This Week in Review:
What an incredible week of learning and discovery in KG2! Our exploration of The Gingerbread Man brought the unit’s central idea to life as the children engaged their senses and sharpened their thinking and inquiry skills.

Here’s what we accomplished:

  • Baking gingerbread: The class rolled up their sleeves to bake delicious gingerbread. Together, we observed the transformation of ingredients into dough and the magical changes that occurred in the oven. The smells and tastes were a sensory delight!
  • Story reflection: Using their critical thinking skills, the children considered why the Gingerbread Man didn’t want to cross the river, leading to insightful conversations about safety and problem-solving.
  • Retelling the story: We had so much fun bringing the story to life! Ms. Maria baked a Gingerbread Man, and the students had the chance to role-play, each taking a turn to ask the Gingerbread Man to stop so they could eat him. In the end, Ms. Fatma helped the Gingerbread Man cross the river—only to eat him herself!

This week was a perfect blend of hands-on activities and thoughtful reflection, helping the children understand how their senses support exploration and discovery. Their enthusiasm and curiosity shone through every step of the way!
