In Grade 7 Art, for our *Color and Emotion* unit, we are now working on the final criterion: Reflection and Evaluation. The goal is for students to step out of their role as artists and become critics, engaging in a thoughtful conversation that brings new light on their work and supports their growth. As part of this reflection process, students are role-playing with ChatGPT as the artist Wassily Kandinsky, who inspired us at the beginning of this unit. In the ChatGPT interaction, students describe their own work to Kandinsky, ask for suggestions, and even request a title for their artwork. I’m looking forward to next week when we will hear the students’ critiques of their own art.
