The Grade 7 French students finished their first unit very successfully! They were assessed on their receptive skills, reading and listening, as well as on their productive skills with a speaking project. They all did really well. For the dialogue, I was highly impressed by the fact that they had all memorized their work and were all able to produce self-written discussions using the content of the unit. As they will gain more and more practice, they will be able to use and understand more complex language.
Our next unit is about hobbies and expressing what we enjoy or don’t enjoy doing. I expect our next unit to be engaging and the students to enjoy talking about their free time. For now we will finish watching a movie (in French!) and the students will reflect on their learning.
