This week, we revisit the Learner Profile of caring and students were encouraged to think about how we need to share when working in a group. One student said, “When everyone work together, we all are winners.” Groups who cooperated and did an activity together were highlighted as a good example for others.
Action is an integral part of the IB curriculum and another important skill for students to develop. Students should be taking independent positive action so they can see the difference they make and continue to grow. When I asked them why we learn, they replied so that they can know more or do new things. When I asked who is this for, they had to think harder. Some students said it was for themselves, some thought it was to make me or their parents happy- one student said it was for ourselves and parents/teacher! Action will be something we continue to encourage and celebrate in class.
