This week, our class focused on building foundational writing skills. We practiced forming circles in an anti-clockwise direction, a key movement that will help students write letters like “a,” “o,“ and “c“ with ease. To make this practice fun and engaging, the students painted large circles using a variety of colors. Once their circles were complete, they decorated them with stars, turning their work into beautiful pieces of art that will proudly be displayed in our classroom.
We also reinforced the concept of drawing lines from top to bottom by creating rainbow-colored number 1s. This activity helped solidify their understanding of the correct stroke direction and allowed them to explore colors creatively.
In literacy, we enjoyed reading one of my favorite stories, Groovy Joe. The students were fully engaged, singing along to Groovy Joe’s song with enthusiasm as we explored the story together. It was a week full of learning and joyful moments that we’re excited to build on in the coming days.
