We have started the school year with the Unit of Inquiry “Who We Are,” which is a fantastic way for students to get to know each other better.
We’ve also begun exploring letter sounds, focusing on the letters ‘a’, ‘i’, ‘s’, and ‘t’. The students are learning not only the sounds these letters make but also how to express and write them.
In addition, we’ve discussed emotions and feelings. We’ve introduced an “emotional check-in” routine where students assess their feelings when they arrive at school. Since emotions can change throughout the day, we encourage them to check in again later. This practice fosters better understanding among students and encourages them to support one another.
Of course, learning wouldn’t be complete without having fun! We’ve had many enjoyable moments this week, see the pictures below.
