Dear Secondary Families,
On behalf of all the Secondary Team, I would like to welcome back all of our families and look forward to working in partnership will you all again this year. It is always a real pleasure to see students back in school and hear about their summer adventures.
Thank you to all the teachers and support staff who worked so hard to make the first week such a success and thank you to you, the parents, for preparing your children for their return to school. Also, of course, thank you to the students for settling so well and beginning the year in such a positive way.
Please mark your calendars for next Wednesday, September 4th, from 5:00 – 6:30 pm. This is when we will host our Parent Information Evening, where you are invited to visit the school and the learning areas. You will have an opportunity to meet with subject teachers and your child’s Advisor for this academic year. You will also receive information about our MYP or DP Programme. We will meet at 5.00 pm in the LC2 Atrium where I will introduce our Secondary Team. Some of our students will meet and greet parents at the gate and help you to the correct area. From 5.25 – 5.45 pm, Advisors will give a short presentation on the curriculum and answer any questions in the grade level areas. We will repeat this session from 5.50 – 6.10 pm to accommodate those parents who have students in different grades. From 6.15 – 6.30 pm, there will be an opportunity to speak to subject teachers in the LC2 Atrium.
You will soon be receiving some information about our After School Activity (ASA) program, which is scheduled to begin in the week of September 8th. There will be a variety of activities to choose from and we encourage you to speak with your child(ren) to identify ones which they may enjoy.
