This week has been about celebrating different grade levels hard work: we have attended and participated in the Art Exhibition. Hopefully, you will have had a chance to see the outstanding work of ABIS’ students in the foyers of all the Learning Centres. On Monday, the students rehearsed their musical performance and they are very excited, if a bit nervous, about their presentation today. On Tuesday, we attended Comic Con put on by Grade 6, which was excellent. We were all engrossed in the older student’s stories and graphics. Then at playtime we supported the charity drive by Grade 3 by making purchases from their Bake Sale. All of the students were very principled and saved some of their treats to take home with them to share.

Over the past week, we have continued working on narrative writing. This time the students are mainly working independently following the writing process and using their editing skills. I am so proud of their effort and using their new knowledge to build their writing skills. The new narrative is based on a road trip and you will soon see these uploaded on Seesaw.

We have pretty much finished up our addition and subtraction unit and have moved on to consolidating our understanding through extension maths, thinking games and investigation. This will continue into next week.

This morning the students and I talked about our end-of-year party and we organised a list of what we would appreciate serving at the party. Please see that below. While we have organised this at school; you may, after discussion with other class parents decide that you would prefer to make a different contribution. We are fine with this; however, would appreciate a balance of savoury and sweet food. Also, we would prefer to drink juice and use paper products which we can recycle. Please email me with any questions you may have.

Please see the attached list for our Grade 2 party here.
