Dear Families
Last Thursday we bid farewell to our Grade 12 students at the Crowne Plaza for their Graduation Ceremony. This is always a highlight of the year, where we get to celebrate with the graduates and their families. After all of the hard work from such a demanding course, it is wonderful to see them relaxed and enjoying the evening. We had speeches from teachers, parents, board members and students. Music performances from some of our talented students, including some of the graduates! Shared photos of them growing up, the formal ceremony, and of course excellent food! We are extremely proud of the class of 2024 and wish them success and happiness as they join our esteemed Alumni.
Last night, Secondary Students and Grade 6 participated in our annual student lock-in. The Student Council spent months planning the event and it was a great success with almost all students choosing to attend. They played volleyball, basketball, football and capture the flag in the Sports Hall. They took part in Karaoke and Just Dance in the Mazoon. Shared ice cream and enjoyed a movie to conclude the evening. It was lovely to see the Grade 6 students interacting with the secondary students as part of their transition.
What a way to end the week with our Summer Concert! Almost every seat in the Mazoon was full with the students and parents enjoying the performances from each of our classes. I would like to congratulate the music department and the performers who had clearly worked very hard to give us such a great show!
Next week we would like to invite all of our primary and secondary parents to the final coffee morning of the academic year. We will be meeting on Tuesday 11th June at 8.00 am in the LC3 Cafe. This will be followed by an optional parent workshop led by our School Counsellors Ms Sharouq and Ms Maitha from 8.30 – 9.30 am. This workshop will explore how regular conversations can positively impact children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development. Practical tips will be offered on conducting daily conversations, engaging children in discussions about their day and feelings, and strategies to support them through challenges. Additionally, there will be an exhibit showcasing examples of conversations that foster specific traits, along with tools and games to facilitate these discussions. We hope to see you there!
On Tuesday afternoon from 2.15 – 3.00 pm we will have our Secondary Achievement Assembly. This is where we recognise students who have gone above and beyond this year in a number of different categories. All parents are welcome to attend, but we will be sending invites to parents whose child has been selected to receive an award.
We will conclude next week with our whole school leavers assembly, where we will celebrate the year and acknowledge those students and teachers who will be moving on to new adventures.
Have a lovely weekend.
