35/38 … Believe it or not there are only three weeks remaining until your child(ren)–our students–make the transition from G6 to G7. We enjoyed our time and learnt a lot at the Oman Aviation Academy. Transdisciplinary (Literacy + UoI) Summary
This week, students finalized a deep study of character through an essay examining character, setting, and theme in a graphic novel in reading. They also applied this thinking to publishing a graphic novel intertwining the themes of migration and climate change in writing. Lastly, they created a slideshow and narrated it to finish up their work in their last PYP Unit of Inquiry.
Numeracy Summary
This week, students reflected on their progress by reviewing an assessment. They used visible thinking protocol: 3-2-1 Bridge. Along with evidence of their reflection on photographs of their performance, students used the following prompts or questions to respond to math.
- I think …
- I notice …
- I wish …
- What are some approaches to learning that you still need to develop?
- What are some learner profile qualities that you still need to develop?
- This year I … and next year I want to …
