The weather’s heating up; it’s getting hot, hot, hot! School is too with more tasks, assignments, tests, exams, and events!! Take some time to inquire with your child(ren) about their Google Calendar and a shared document with only those important moments that apply to G6. As students and teachers did this week to prepare for yearbook publication, take some time to reflect on some incredible times this year: G6 in Pictures.

In Unit of Inquiry, students personalized their learning by figuring out how they best express themselves by finding individual and group photographs to be included on yearbook pages. Students will continue exploring the intersection of migration and climate change next week.

Mathematics Summary

In numeracy, students have explored the order of operations (PEMDAS or parentheses, exponents, multiplication/division, addition/subtraction), how to replace numbers with letters and vice versa, and addition, subtraction, and multiplication expressions. Student also named, defined, and used properties: commutative and distributive.

Google Classroom

The entire G6 learning community has completely transitioned to using Google Classroom as the main platform for teaching and learning. Students engage daily with materials, quizzes, assignments, and increased expectations. Invitations were previously sent out, which means that you are most welcome to accept a digital invitation at your earliest convenience. Additionally, please note the importance of maintaining literacy and numeracy skills.
