As my mental clarity and energy levels have returned, I’ve taken some time to complete some long runs. On one particular run, I completed ten kilometers with my daughter. As we were taking a bit of a recovery and walking swiftly rather than running, she inquired about the severity of the recent weather. I explained to her that when she grew up in Japan there were many times when we felt forceful wind from typhoons. She recalled that there were thunderstorms in Sudan where the water dumped from the sky. I reasoned that throughout the storm the other day, that was the first time that both wind and rain combined with thunder and lightning to produce a weather event that neither of us had experienced.

For part of this week, due to the weather there was no internet and I have heard news and seen a number of videos of flooding around Sohar and throughout Oman. With this I hope that everyone is safe and that things are able to return to normal as soon as possible. Please be well and continue to look out for yourselves, your family, and your friends.

Learning & Teaching Summaries

Rather than summarize learning and teaching this week, I’ll list all materials, tasks, and assignments (with links) according to when they occurred whether face-to-face on campus Monday or asynchronously on Tuesday and Thursday. Since we were only on campus for a day this week the folder is rather empty; in any case, please check out G6 W30 in Pictures.
