Dear Parents,

The Eid holiday has been announced by the government providing next weeks Tuesday to Thursday to celebrate Eid. A reminder that ABIS is also closed on Sunday 14th and school resumes on Monday 15th.

Monday marks the final day of formal lessons for our Grade 12 students as they embark on their study leave to prepare for the final IBDP exams. To bid them farewell, the entire school will line the pathways, applauding as the Grade 12’s depart wearing their graduation gowns. This tradition, initiated last year, warmly welcomes any parents who wish to join the farewell at 12:45 pm.

I am pleased to inform you that Progress Reports will be distributed next week on Monday afternoon. I encourage you to take the time to review these reports and discuss with your child about their progress. Do praise them for their achievements while also considering any recommendations provided for further growth. Should you have any queries regarding the reports, please feel free to reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher.

Scheduled for Tuesday, April 23rd, and Wednesday, April 24th, Primary Student-Led Conferences present a valuable opportunity for you to engage with your child’s learning journey. Sign-up sheets will be shared subsequent to the Eid holiday, allowing you to reserve a 30-minute slot to visit your child’s homeroom learning space. During these conferences, your child will guide the discussion, showcasing their learning through examples of classwork and activities. Additionally, you will have the chance to explore specialist learning areas such as Arabic, Music, Art, French, and PE.

Mark your calendars for our forthcoming primary assemblies. We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of Grades 3-6 on Thursday, May 2nd, followed by KG1-Grade 2 on Thursday, May 16th. Further, I am pleased to announce the ABIS Talent Show scheduled for Thursday, May 9th. Further details regarding the talent show will be shared closer to the event date.

After School Activities (ASAs) will commence on Sunday, April 21st. Keep an eye out for sign-up sheets and activity details, which will be shared shortly. This will enable you to enroll your child in their preferred extracurricular activity.
