Hey all,

Power to the people! Yes, we overthrew dictatorship and won back our voice, choice and ownership. The highlight this week was the students’ suggestion to draft a constitution of our own for G4 which could also be handed down to next year. We also held a mock election to understand how electoral votes work. For photos from this week, please see Week 27.

Here’s what we did this week:

We read 3 different scripts for Readers’ Theater in our break-out groups:

  • “Rosie & the River” – A heartwarming tale on the importance of community collaboration.
  • “Cindy Makes a Change”: Through Cindy’s story, we learn about the power of individual action in creating positive change within our society.
  • “Tackling the Test”: Exploring the concepts of citizenship, rights and responsibilities.

Reading Selections:

  • “Iqbal”: A powerful story that sheds light on child labor issues and the importance of standing up for human rights.
  • “Grace for President”: This inspiring book teaches valuable lessons about democracy, leadership and equality.

Math Focus:

  • Multiplication Strategies: Our students delved into various multiplication strategies to enhance their mathematical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Using manipulatives: Through hands-on activities using counters, students are strengthening  their understanding

As always, please feel free to write to us if you have any questions or would like to seek clarification.

Please see Broadcaster posts, Sunday mails, Seesaw posts and your child’s FMJ regularly for communication between school and home.

Cheers

G4 Team
