Hey All

To all who are fasting and maintaining their commitments during this sacred time, kudos to you. And kudos to all of us for adapting to the changes in the schedule and the corresponding updates as they came at different points this week.

Highlights:

  • Unit of Inquiry – Your child has probably talked about a ‘chaos’ in the classroom. Well, it was all a part of our provocation for our new unit on Government systems. Some of our wonderful G6 students helped us organize this learning experience to get G4 start thinking ‘What if there was no government’ and ‘what if there were no rules’.

  • Back to the basics – As a part of math maintenance, Students worked with base-10 blocks to strengthen their understanding of addition and subtraction of multi-digit numbers. They applied this understanding to column strategy. Some students also extended their thinking to solve problems involving missing digits.

  • Language – This week’s writing challenge was to use a metaphor/simile/hyperbole in the narrative that the students are working on. Some amusing while some same old; overall the narrative is shaping up.

Up and Coming

  • 21st Mar – Oman Mother’s day
  • Community Iftar – ABIS news flash to be sent out soon.
  • Student led conference after Eid

As always, please feel free to write to us if you have any questions or would like to seek clarification.

Please see Broadcaster posts, Sunday mails, Seesaw posts and your child’s FMJ regularly for communication between school and home.

Have a wonderful weekend.
