Our grade 11 students have just completed their unit on the cell. This is the first out of 4 major topics they have to complete in the 2-year program. They are on track and it is expected that they will complete the syllabus ahead of time. In this unit, they had the chance to explore the effects of differing water potential on cells, This has many applications such as in kidney dialysis. In the coming weeks, we are looking at starting the HL topics and getting them to understand more challenging concepts. The HL topics are more challenging but with a strong foundation already laid for the task ahead, the students are all expected to excel in this unit as well.
