In our Unit of Inquiry (UOI) at our school, students delved into Healthy Habits, exploring water’s pivotal role in energizing the body and enhancing concentration. The interdisciplinary approach highlighted the significance of hydration and shed light on the interconnectedness of habits like nutrition and sleep.

A key takeaway was the profound impact of water on cognitive functions. Students discovered that staying adequately hydrated boosts energy levels and improves concentration, fostering a conducive environment for effective learning. Understanding the science behind hydration has empowered our students to make informed choices for their overall well-being.

To reinforce their newfound knowledge, we are building a play kitchen in the classroom. This hands-on activity allows them to enact and internalize what they’ve learned about food, nutrition, and healthy choices. The play kitchen serves as a dynamic tool for practically applying their knowledge.
