As part of jumping off the deep end into anything and everything related to Exhibition, students completed designs. The design, which is this week’s featured image, was sent to the printers so that ABIS might provide some feedback for tee-shirts, mugs, banners, etc. All apologies for not including a link to photographs. I hope that you understand my priority was high-quality teaching for your child(ren)’s high-quality learning.

Home Learning – aka Homework
This week, students (and their parents) could access Agency Centers in order to provide a chance for students to exercise their agency and to ensure that all students would not miss out on any learning due to a meeting with a mentor.
Exhibition (or Literacy + UoI) Summary
This week, students determined what makes readers trust a source or not, generated a list of trusted sources, researched, and took Cornell Notes in reading. Students clarified their central idea, lines of inquiry, a connection to a UNSDG, a problem or case study, and an action for their Exhibition projects before using summaries from their notes to write off of, to write long, or to begin drafting. Students also began to check in with their group mates with greater intention by making and confirming plans, by providing feedback for research and/or writing, and by scanning through each other’s Exhibition notebook before feeding ideas forward.
Numeracy Summary
This week, students wrapped up the first half of a unit about division of fractions and multiplication of decimal numbers with a mid-module assessment. Reflections will be posted (and approved) soon so that you might best track your child(ren)’s progress.
Anything Else
Of course, there are daily suggestions for home learning in Agency Centers. As one important way to better connect school with home, please talk with your child(ren) about their project, their meeting with a mentor, the inquiry process, etc.
