Dear Parents and Students,

Holiday bells are ringing! What a fantastic first half of the year!

Time has really flown by quickly.

This week, the majority of our students had an extremely busy week with lots happening – Exams, Sports day, the school Musical and so on.

To be honest, with two examinations this week, some of our students did seem a bit stressed however with their study guides and help with their self management/ study time organisers that we worked on in class, we look forward to positive results. Certainly this is a lead into and good practice for grade 6 students transitioning into Grade 7. Students now only have 22 weeks before they complete the PYP (Primary) and move into the MYP (secondary School).

Also, what a way to finish the week with two superb sports days back to back.

Well done to everyone who participated,  a huge thanks to everyone who contributed to making this a success and Congratulations to Blue team for coming out on top for the second year in a row (see our Feature image for this week).

Grade 6 Week 16 in pictures: 2023 2024

Integrated Unit of Inquiry

Language: This week we have revisited our earlier opinion writing piece with a view to improving this as well as working on completing all seesaw posts and reflections.

Exhibition: This week all groups have reached out to other teachers in school to invite them to be monitors for their Exhibition project.  As a result all groups now have mentors. All groups have also worked on tier central ideas and lines of inquiry, so we are definitely moving ahead.

Mathematics:

This week students have continued to work on developing their basic facts and their understanding of how the division of fractions works.

Homework

Please remember that there is homework every day except over the weekend. It is important that students are reading, writing and doing Maths practice on a daily  basis. Thank you for supporting this and for sighting and signing this every week.

Notice:

Important dates to note:

  • School resumes on January the 7th 2024

Worth Repeating:

When students return after the December break we will be straight into our UOI on How We Organise Ourselves, Our Exhibition unit. For this please remember…

As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all those who celebrate.

We wish all of you happy holidays and a wonderful time to relax, reflect & rejuvenate!

Sincere regards,
