Dear parents,
We end this week with sadness at the passing of Paul Ridgway, a long time parent of the ABIS community. We extend our deepest condolences to his wife Dana and their four children. He will be missed by all. There is an open house between the hours of 10 am and 9 pm today and tomorrow for visitors to extend their condolences at Villa 414, Palm Gardens.
This week, 5 of our students participated in a Holy Qur’an competition and three were selected at the level of North Al Batinah, which includes 25 public, private and international schools. I am pleased to announce that 3 of our students won the following: Rand Ahmed Salim Al Saidi – 7th place, Talal Hassan Al Zaabi – 8th place and Mais Masaud Al Saadi -17th place. Our gratitude and thanks to our Arabic language team: Ms Sahar, Ms Karima, Ms Amal, Ms Nabawia. Well done to all of our participating students for being involved in this competition.
Today we saw an incredible Primary Winter Music Concert organised and led by our music teacher Mr Peter. Congratulations to Mr Peter, all the students, the teachers and support staff who made this occasion so memorable for everyone. The entire primary of grade’s 1 – 6 finished the concert with a rousing song of Do Re MI which was amazing!
At the end of the assembly, certificates and trophies were awarded to 10 students who won the ABIS Arabic Language competition titled “Arabic Treasure: A Journey of Challenge, Thought, and Creativity.” Congratulations to the students who achieved well in this competition and our thanks to Ms Karima for organising it. A great effort by all involved!
Next Monday evening we have the school musical to which the entire school community is invited. It starts at 6.00 pm. Please come along to see what will be a great show.
Next Wednesday is the Primary Sports Day and on Thursday the Secondary Sports Day. Parents are encouraged to attend and cheer on the students.
