Dear Primary Parents,

Kindness Day (Monday, 13th)

The week started off on a super positive note as we celebrated World Kindness Day on Monday. The Primary Student Leadership Team, led by Ms. Amy and Ms. Sri, shared papers with the different grade levels so that students could write and share messages to friends and classmates, recognizing the qualities and attributes of those around them.

At school, we do teach and promote the IB Learner Profiles, one of which is ‘caring’. World Kindness Day was a wonderful reminder to us all of the importance of using kind words and remembering to be kind and caring towards those around us. I would like to thank those involved in promoting the event at school and look forward to catching students sharing kind and caring words in the days and weeks ahead.

Grade 3-6 Assembly (Thursday, 16th)

Today, we enjoyed a super, student-led assembly for grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. The MCs for the assembly, Feline and Alice, did a wonderful job as they welcomed everybody and introduced each segment of the assembly. We had a really lovely balance of contributions from each grade level, sharing the learning that has been taking place in recent weeks at school. Grade 3 shared the very crucial message of the importance of healthy food and making good choices about the foods we eat; grade 4 shared passages from a story that had been enjoyed in class with the message, “What if everybody did that?” to remind us of the importance of making responsible decisions; grade 5 has been learning about forces in science and demonstrated a ‘human Rube Goldberg’ machine; and grade 6 shared their identity wheels created during their Who We Are unit.

We thoroughly enjoyed today’s assembly and look forward to the KG1 – Grade 2 assembly planned for Thursday, 30th November.

National Day (Sunday, 19th)

On Sunday, students are invited to wear their traditional Omani clothes or clothes in the color of the flag of Oman. Each child that wears these clothes will earn a house point for their respective house.

We look forward to beginning the week in fine style and then also to the extended weekend that has now been announced.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful weekend and a wonderful National Day on Friday, 18th November.

Best regards,

Matthew

Primary Team Lead
