Salam Alaikum to all families,

As we are nearing the end of this term, our learning has been on top gear this week. For photos from this week, please see this link and Seesaw posts.

What we did in Week 8

  • In math, students are strengthening their understanding of rounding whole numbers and estimating quantities. Students also learnt a problem-solving strategy ‘Organizing information in a table’ in addition to ‘Guess & Check’ strategy. Students played Visual Tic Tac Toe to improve their visualization and memory skill.

.

  • In the Integrated Unit of Inquiry, students are learning to analyze the Cause & Effect of people’s actions, following read-aloud of the book “What if Everybody did that?”. We had interesting discussions on making the right choices and choosing the right role models. Also, students are learning about the elements of a story by identifying the background (character, setting & conflict), rising action, climax, falling action and resolution of the story “Those Shoes”

.

Strengthening our class culture & School Culture:   This week, we talked about developing a Voice, Choice and Ownership and discussed the ABIS learning pact “Challenge Yourself, Involve Yourself & Be Your Best”. Students are enthusiastic about being more involved in the school community and being a role-model themselves.

As always, please feel free to write to us if you have any questions or would like to seek clarification.

Worth reminding – Please see Broadcaster posts, Sunday mails, Seesaw posts and your child’s FMJ regularly for communication between school and home.

Have a wonderful weekend.
