Dear Primary Families,

I hope this message finds you well and that you have had a successful and enjoyable week! As partners in your child’s educational journey, we want to highlight a vital aspect of their growth and development: the importance of students setting their own learning goals.

Setting learning goals empowers our students to take charge of their education. As a PYP school, we aim to foster a lifelong love for learning and to nurture essential life skills like self-motivation, responsibility, and perseverance.

When children set their own goals, they become active participants in their education. They gain a sense of ownership and direction, which can lead to increased engagement and a greater sense of achievement. These skills transcend the classroom, helping them become self-assured individuals who can tackle challenges head-on.

Here’s how you can support your child:

Encourage Reflection: Discuss their strengths and areas they’d like to improve.

Set Realistic Goals: Help them create achievable, time-bound objectives.

Track Progress: Celebrate milestones together and make adjustments as needed.

Provide Resources: Ensure they have the tools and resources necessary to succeed.

Together, we can instill in our children the belief that they have the ability to shape their own futures. Let’s nurture a generation of self-motivated, goal-oriented, and successful learners!

Thank you for your continued support.

Afternoon Tea

On Tuesday 26th September, we would like to invite parents to our first afternoon tea! We are aware that some parents are not able to attend our coffee mornings due to other commitments, and we are therefore trialling the idea of an informal get together with parents and team leaders from 5pm – 6pm. It is an opportunity to meet others, discuss ideas and ask questions. This will be open to Primary and Secondary parents. We hope to see you there.

Best regards,

Matthew

Primary Team Lead
